Rules:
1. Wear PPE and know where the fire extinguishers are located.
2. No welding inside (except TIG).
3. When TIG welding inside, keep the pod bay door open and run the fan to blow air OUT of the space.
4. Notify other members and guests before welding.
4a. Call out "Welding!" or "Grinding!" before welding.
4b. Give people enough time to leave the area or put on PPE before starting welding.
5. Clean up after yourself.
6. DO NOT WELD HAZARDOUS COATINGS OR ITEMS! Examples below:
- Zinc plated or galvanized material. Grind back the coating before welding to prevent zinc fumes.
- Stainless steel items without proper PPE and ventilation setup. Some info on Hexavalent Chromium: https://www.osha.gov/hexavalent-chromium
